Two days ago Gabriel Garcia Marquez died. He is one of my favorite authors- his stories are beautifully convoluted and very magical. I also admire how outspoken he was about the complicated influence of western countries, particularly the US, on latin american culture, and the harm they created by being so greedy. And he made this obvious with such perfect language and story telling. Each time I read a piece of his writing I feel very inspired. So in his honor I decided to put tiny tributes to him on the trail behind my house for unsuspecting joggers to notice. The quotes are from 100 Years of Solitude and Love in the Time of Cholera.
